The scheme incorporates the construction of a tunnel portal and a new elevated DLR station at Pudding Mill Lane. The project required associated structures to bring the subterranean railway into the above ground existing rail network. The project also links new Crossrail tunnels to the existing Network Rail infrastructure.
The C350 project won the RoSPA Gold award for safety performance and achieved over a 1’000’000 man hours work without a RIDDOR reportable accident.
As part of Sian’s continued improvements to safety innovation we have devolved several unique solutions to dramatically reduce common site hazards such as covered concrete skips used for concrete line cleaning. This has helped the project win the Crossrail Green Line Environmental Award for Innovation
